This blog goes through the steps to develop an android ground station for DJI drones called DjGs. Developing applications for drones is still in its beginning stages. There is a growing need for companies to develop custom drone applications to assist in the process from planning specific missions, flying those missions, and analyzing and processing the results.
The DjGs ground station is a very simple version of the DJI GO app. Some of the capabilities are the same such as integrating a google map, a live video stream, and current status. However the purpose of the DjGs ground station is not to duplicate the DJI GO app but to include new capabilities such as including OpenCv to complete image processing such as real time object recognition. The DjGs ground station is evolving and as new capabilities are added, then the changes will be tracked on this blog and the application.
The code for DjGs has been published on github and is found here.
